What's New at ASC Profiles?
AEP Span Launches Website
With the Design Community in Mind
April 21, 2008 – AEP Span, a Division of ASC Profiles, a BlueScope Steel Company, launched a brand new customer-focused, interactive website this month. The site www.aepspan.com was designed as a direct response to the needs of architects, designers, and members of the building design and construction industry.

BlueScope Steel Limited Purchases IMSA
Steel US Assets
On December 19, 2007, Ternium S.A.,
owner of ASC Profiles, Inc, announced that an agreement was
reached for the sale of its U.S. businesses to international
steel solutions company BlueScope Steel Limited through its
subsidiary, BlueScope Steel North America Corporation. The
U.S. businesses included in this sale are ASC Profiles Inc.
(divisions: AEPS Span, ASC Steel Deck, ASC Building
Products), Steelscape, VP Buildings and MetalSpan. The
acquisition is subject to normal regulatory approval and is
expected to be completed by early 2008.
BlueScope, based in Australia, was formerly known as BHP
Steel and was the owner of ASC
Profiles Inc. prior to the sale to Grupo IMSA-Mexico in
July, 2000. Other U.S. businesses
currently owned by BlueScope include Butler Manufacturing, a
metal building manufacturer
based in Kansas City, and North Star BlueScope Steel LLC, a
hot roll producer in Ohio.
BlueScope products include rolled steel, coated steel, metal
buildings, and steel building
products.
BlueScope Steel has a strong commitment to the continued
development of its North
American businesses, including ASC Profiles Inc., and growth
in the building and construction
market. BlueScope’s intention is to continue to offer
existing brands, through their respective
distribution channels, to the market.
