ASC Profiles began its operations in 1971 as ASC Pacific with one manufacuring plant in Tacoma, Washington. By 1979 the company opened a second facility in West Sacramento, California, where the company is currently headquartered. Under the name ASC Pacific and later BHP Steel Building Products, five additional manufacturing plants were opened between 1980 and 1995.
Since IMSA Acero acquired the company in the year 2000 as well as AEP Span in the year 2001, the two companies have merged, expanding services from East Coast to West Coast. At present, ASC Profiles operates eight manufacturing facilities in West Sacramento and Fontana, California; Tacoma and Spokane, Washington; Salem, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; Anchorage, Alaska and most recently, Dallas, Texas.
